Meet Lucia
An unintended expatriate blogger behind PlumeCanvasLedger

Hello, I am Lucia
I work as a project manager. I'm a parent. An expat living in Madrid, Spain.
Some years ago I moved here with my family. What started as a temporary contract gradually became a new chapter of life overseas.
How It All Began
Moving to Spain wasn’t part of the long-range plan. Like many global assignments, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — unfamiliar systems, new routines, fresh expectations. Everyday tasks felt tougher than they should.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of trial-and-error learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt steady.
Why I Built PlumeCanvasLedger
Most online guidance tended to be corporate relocation tips or shallow travel content. What was missing was a real, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Spain.
What This Website Is (And Isn't)
This site IS:
- Hands-on insights from living in Spain
- Centered on family life and day-to-day realities
- Updated when a real change occurs
This site ISN'T:
- Not a tourism authority resource
- A paid-for review platform
- A generic travel blog
Looking Forward
Our stay in Spain goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I will continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Madrid or anywhere in Spain, don’t hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Lucia
